Mingmongkol Buddha

Clearly visible from your tamarind villa, Phuket's Big Buddha officially known as Phra
Puuttamingmongkol Eaknakakeeree sits 400 meters above sea level on top of the
Nakkerd Hills between Kata-Karon and Chalong. At 45 meters tall and 25 meters wide the
image will be Asia's largest Buddha in the pang marnvi-chai meditation posture.
Work to create the image began six years ago and the main structural work is now nearing
completion. Work on the Jade exterior is 80 per cent complete and the image will be
finalised with 40 lotus petal images in marble around the base.
A museum is planned for the interior to display buddhism artifacts and exhibitions.
Outside there will be a meditation park along with lawned areas for candlelit processions.
Visitors are encouraged to tour the site and see the work in progress along with specific
information on the project. You can also visit the on site Buddhist temple.
Promthep Cape

Jungceylon - open from 10am-10pm
Is a newly opened mall offering more of a complete dining, entertainment and shopping experience. It is spread out through 2 large buildings each side of a central square with an outdoor beer garden and a lake with nightly water, music and light shows.
Off the central square is an abundance of international eateries choose snacks from Subway or Starbuck’s or maybe a dinner at a branded Steakhouse or Italian restaurant. The complex also offers a luxury cinema experience and bowlplex facility.
